Transducer for a ETR 30N

Can I use a ETR 30N sounder box with a 50b-9b transducer?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes the ETR-30N (aka BBFF3) is compatible with the CA50B-9B 1kw rubber coated transducer. You will want to verify the tap settings on the BBFF3 to "Tap A." If this is a new transducer installation you also may want to clear the settings on the BBFF3. This information can be found in the installation menu on page 15.

Ok, Thanks. I plan to upgrade from a FCV271 to the BBFF3 coupled to a VX2. I'm assuming I have a 50B-9B installed as that's what's indicated on a sticker above the connector socket on the back of the FCV271. The transducer is eight to ten inches long, solid brass and has two circular sensor inserts in it. It's embedded in a fairing block protruding from the hull. If there's a way to confirm that it is in fact a 50B-9B please let me know how to do so. Otherwise, I'm buying the BBFF3 and VX2, hooking it all up and assuming it will all work -as the FCV271 and installed transducer are currently working.

the CA50B-9B is a rubber coated transducer not bronze. Is there another tag somewhere on the cable that indicates other part numbers. The CA50B-9B is a single frequency transducer with only 3 wires.

It could be a CA50/200- 12m?

No other tags on the transducer or cable. There's a splice in the cable at the transducer and it feels like three wires in it. I have a picture of the bilge side of the transducer but can't post it. There are two mounting bolts coming out the back side of it, eight inches center to center between them.
