Track Ball

Question, my VX2 will not keep the vessel icon centered. I have removed the ball and cleaned as per Furuno instructions which didn’t help. We also tried it with the ball removed same thing. I read in one of the forums that there is a o-ring in there that I never seen. Should I replace the ball and retaining ring or do you think there is more to it? If you think replacing the ball ring assembly is the way to go please provide p/n.

The socket wears down over the years as does the retaining ring. You can't buy just the ring. The ball and ring are sold together and then they sell the entire assembly. Due to socket wear, I always recommend the entire assembly be replaced. Rarely would the ball and retaining ring fix the issue you describe. The part number for the track ball assembly is 000-171-974. I also recommend that you have updated your software. Some of the old original software was over sensitive and could cause cursor float problems.
