Greetings,
I am adding the following gear to my boat: TZT 13X MFD, DFF3D, Navpilot 300, SCX 20, 165T 50-200 TM 260 transducer, and the 225T TM 904 side-scan transducer.
My question is in regard to the placement of the TM 904 side scan transducer. Would I have improved performance of the side scan picture by mounting on the PORT side as close to possible to the center-line of the transom (illustrated by the blue tape in the photos), to avoid the sonar signal being blocked by the bottom of the boat as it transmits it signals toward Starboard. (I believe the deadrise is 18 degrees). Alternatively, I could place it along side of the planned mounting place for my TM 260 transducer (illustrated by green tape), if that would be best place to achieve maximum performance. I am not concerned with the performance of side-scan when I have the boat on plane, only while trolling. The distance from the Blue tape to the front of the hub on the forwardmost propeller on my Suzuki DF 300B is 5 feet, so I do not believe prop turbulence will be a concern. There are no steps in the aluminum hull. Any help would be appreciated.
