System Integration

I would like to fully integrate the system on my boat. I have a Furuno radar (rdp 152) and a Furuno Sounder FCV 587. I am in the market for a new Plotter and VHF.

Is it possible to have these systems connected to I can leverage additional functionality? What plotter and VHF options would work in with my existing hardware. Would other components would I need to make it all work?

My boat also has a Comnav P2Vs auto pilot

Thanks in advance!!

There are no network abilities using a standalone radar and standalone sounder. While you can wire them up via NMEA to share say GPS location to the radar or Temp and depth from the sounder; you could never see the radar screen or sounder screen on the plotter. You could only share basic NMEA digital data between units. A Furuno VHF radio (Like FM4800 or FM4850) with something like a newer NavNet plotter would allow DCS direct calling to AIS targets on screen when used together.

Thank you for the reply.

Ideally what I am after with the sounder and plotter would be if I am seeing fish on sounder id like to be able to mark them and have that show up on plotter.

I will look into one of those VHF, and a navnet type plotter. Definitely need a plotter.

Your sounder can put out TLL (Target Lat Lon) and send that by NMEA to your plotter. How it interfaces will ultimately depends on the plotter you have. Radar image is not going to happen via a standalone radar that isn't designed to network.
