Software Update v6_26 Instruction Confusion

I have two [2] different downloaded instructions for installing v6_26:

The first, downloaded in Nov2019 details making the install via a USB drive [FURUNO V6_26 software_update_procedures]

The second, downloaded in Jan2020 details making the install via a mini card at the rear of the MFD [NavNet TZtouch2 (TZTL12F/TZTL15F) – Software Update Instructions]

So.... MUST I now use only the mini card internal to the MFD or can I use the USB port?

Neither of my two MFD's are easily accessible from the rear [mini card port]. On one of them I use the FURUNO remote card reader via the USB port; on the other I use a USB extension via the USB port.

Typically the updates that require the OS to be updated will be placed on a micro card and inserted in the back of the machine. (like 6.21) Yet, the TZT2BB is done with the USB stick and not the same as the TZT2L12/15F. v6.26 is an app update and that is done via a USB stick for all TZT2 units. If you find it confusing, you can always install it on micro SD and then have a USB card reader handy. That way you are prepared for either method or type of TZT2. The instructions are paired with the particular software posted on our website. An update kit can always be purchased from your dealer if it makes it easier. If you find instructions that is posted with the software that doesn't work, please let tech support know.
