side scan cross section view

I wonder, how usefull would a cross section view from the side scan transducer would be? Especially if you could stack or merge this screen over the DFF3D cross section view.

You seem to be suggesting it.

DFF3D is more downward wide beam device and not really a true side-scan as it is just using the outer side beams of the down transducer for a side-scan "like" screen.

True side-scan would start at the water surface like our 235 or 455 side-scan options. Because they have a beam out port and beam out starboard it would have to be two cross sections, not just one. In what way would you use this feature?

The cross section view from the DFF3D is nice, I think the same cross section view from the side scan ducers would be useful also. It would be extremely useful if the side scan cross section could be merged onto the DFF3D cross section view to give a complete coverage view.

The new Chirp Side Scan only shows the tradition top view, whereas the DFF3D show both the top view and a cross section from behind.
I use that view a lot and wonder why the side scan doesn't offer it?
Edit: I sort of asked this question before. I would like to suggest it for future updates.
