Setting Up Gp1971F

Hallo everyone, i want to buy Furuno Gp1971F with chirp transducer B285M thru hull, wondering how to set up the unit, can i just plug and play that unit with that transducer? somebody say i need to buy FI-5002 junction box.

In addition, how's the GP1971F internal GPS works ? anybody have experience how good it is because somebody suggest me to set external antenna unit GP-330B

I really appreciated if anybody can share their knowledge. Thanks

You need to connect the 10-Pin Transducer Connector to the GP1971F's 10-Pin Transducer Port. You'll then need do complete the transducer set-up for the GP1971F.

So go to [HOME] then [SETTINGS] then select [FISHFINDER] and [INITIAL SETUP]. Then you'll need to select the correct transducer on the [TRANSDUCER] page.

If you're the unit is going to be used inside an enclosed cabin, and not outside say like a center console cockpit application, then I would encourage using a GP330B External GPS Antenna. It's NMEA2000 device so you can plug it right into the GP1971F's NMEA2000 Port.
