SCX20 compatibility

I just purchased the SCX20, but I have not received it yet. I was wondering if it can replace both the PG700 and GP330, or just the PG700? Once installed and functioning should I remover the PG700?

Functionally it will replace those devices.

Whether your other NMEA2000 equipment is happy with the SCX20 rather than those, just try it. Disconnect the drops to the older devices at the backbone for easy testing.

Hi Mangler,

The SCX20 can replace both the PG700 magnetic compass and the (GP330B) GPS antenna. It will do both functions for you.

You can remove the other items, but some folks like to keep them installed on the boat as backups (though no backup should be needed with the SCX20)

Thanks! I was hoping that was the case. And, yes, they will stay in place as backups!
