Screen shot queries

Gidday,

I fished today in around 85m with the following settings on the P66:

Range 30m
Shift 75m

Range question: Why are we encouraged to set range first when shift seems to determine the starting depth? If we already know the depth we want to monitor, doesn't it make more sense to set a shift first and then adjust the range?

Accufish question #1: You'll note a few probable fish sizes on the screen shot. Why aren't these 'fish' showing up as properly defined blobs or arches rather than being confused in a big mass of bait and in which part of the circle are the 'fish'' registering?

Accufish question #2: See the doubled up 67cm fish, would that be a pair with one fish slightly higher in the water column than its partner?

Spooled1,
Even though you are using the sounder on a zoom split screen using 200Khz the ACCU-FISH mode is using the 50Khz side in the back ground. Also know that both ACCU-FISH and Bottom Discrimination mode change the TX pulse of the sounder. I don't have any good side by side pictures of ACCU-FISH but I do have them with the Bottom Discrimination mode showing the affect on fish targets. The first is the different in the screen advance and the second are fish targets. Next time out try toggling the ACCU-FISH on/off to see the affect it has on the fish targets.
