SC70 AIS data conversion

Hello everyone,
I have a question about connecting the SC70 to AIS transponder. Any help is welcome. If the NMEA0183HS AIS data available on the data input, is the AIS data available on SC701 N2k port also or no?

Thanks
Nick

Thank You!,.....but, if the LAN data is not available, and heading data are available on one of the NMEA0183 data ports, the SC70 will automatically switch the heading data to N2K according to the settings in the automatic source priorities? Did I understand correctly? Thanks

Do you meant the AIS? The SC70 is the heading source and will output data to any ports as programmed to do during installation.

No, for AIS You answered, that is clear now.
This is a second question. I want just to confirm. As I understood, LAN heading is the highest priority, but it is possible to input another heading source to, for example, on DATA 1 port with NMEA0183HS.

What unit are you asking about? You posted under the chart plotters but haven't mentioned a model. I think FishTech, and those like myself following, are confused what you you are asking about.

My question is about the SC70. I apologize if I asked the question in the wrong topic. Can an additional GPS compass sensor (SC33) be connected to the NMEA2000 port of the SC701 distribution box (J8)?

The SC70 NMEA2000 j8 port goes to a NMEA2000 network. If you have power, terminators, another device on the network is just another device on the network. Not sure what you are using for AIS; some require their own antenna for position rather than get it on the network. A device listening on the network for position/heading will either get the lowest instance # of NMEA2000 equipment, or choose from a list which device to listen to.

Ok, thank You. Forget AIS, that is not a problem. I want to have two heading and position sources (GPS Compass) connected to SC701 distribution box. I have SC70 with main GPS compass connected to ANT RJ45 port, and I would like to have another GPS compass (SC33) connected to SC701 because of redundancy, if it's possible of course.

For better redundancy, put the sc33 and sc70 together on the NMEA2000 bus. Then connect your instruments to both nmea2000 and 0183 (via sc701). If the NMEA2000 network breaks, you're still good. If your sc701 loses it's mind, all is still good. You still have some years for that, but I've had to change a couple sc501 boxes for various reasons.

Thank You! I suppose that. I need to check this. Wonderful. I can't check by myself because the shipyard is late with the power supply. Thank You again!
