Resetting the date and time

I'm a new owner, so apologies if I'm just dense but my TZTouch2 is set to some randomly selected date and time in the past and I cannot figure out how to reset it to the correct date/time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The unit will need to get UTC time/date from the GPS. Once you have good GPS data, you can use the time offset to change UTC to local time. This setting is found under HOME - SETTINGS - GENERAL - LOCAL TIME OFFSET

Thanks for the reply, Johnny. I think it might be something else, but correct me if I'm wrong. If I goto Settings>Initial Setup>Data Source menu I see the 'System date and time' and they are correct (as is my UTC offset).

However, the time showing on the user nav screens when I back out of the menus (and on routes for when they are created, etc.) are still way off. I'm talking 1/1/2016 and a random time not even just offset by hours, but minutes also completely off.

Is there some way to force the system to use what it already knows is the correct time/date from its system time for everything?

Thanks again!

Howard

You might be looking at the route or the waypoint creation date. Maybe you can take a photo or short video to show what you mean. If you bring up time in your Data box at the side of the screen; that shows up correctly?

Here are two photos. See if this clears up what I'm describing. I can take more, if needed.

Thanks,
Howard

You sensor selection doesn't seem to be fully working correctly or it is setup improperly. Both your GPS and Date and time "Preferred" source do not match what the unit is currently using. This normally indicates a problem. What is STBD FB?

You may have waded into waters deeper than my experience. I BELIEVE what that means is Starboard Flybridge, which is where the Furuno GP-320B satellite GPS is located. Seems to make sense to me but I didn't do the setup.

The fact that the "Current" isn't the same of your "Preferred" is showing the preferred device is having a problem. My guess is your primary is down and the internal GPS of the unit isn't getting the best signal. I would change the preferred source to a diffrent GPS or if nothing else; change it to the internal GPS of the TZT2 and see what happens. Then you can bring up the sat status screen and see what kind of HDOP and number of SATs you are really picking up. The system isn't happy or at least your Starboard Flybridge isn't.

Just closing the loop on this one in case anyone else has the same issue.

It turned out that we were on a very old version of the software and once we brought it up to date, the problem resolved itself.

As per Furuno's instructions, we had to update through multiple versions as opposed to jumping straight to the latest. Not sure why that is.

Thanks again for the responses.

The free v7 software doesn't require any step upgrading. It will update any prior version but does require both micro SD and USB memory to fully update the two part machine update.
