RDP-149 and radar

Hi,

I have a Furuno RDP-139 NAVnet with sonar, autopilot and radar connected.

I want to replace the RDP-139 display with an RDP-149 vx2 display that I have purchased. The radar antenna mounted on the boat is a Type RSB-0094. Ser.no. R129-0799.

Was told by my local Furuno dealer in Norway that the RDP-149 display was a Model 1834C. Ser.no. 4345-4150.

The question is whether my current radar antenna will work with the new RDP-149 modell 1834C?

What is the difference between MODEL 1824C, MODEL 1834C and MODEL 1934C? Is this the description of the radar or display? Is display RDP-149 equal, regardless of model 18xx / 19xx?

On Furuno 1834C's side it says that Product Consists Of radar RSB-0071. But it still means that 1834C can use both RSB-0071 or RSB-0094? https://www.furunousa.com/en/products/1834C

RDP139 was the 10.4" Navnet 1 display. RDP149 was the Navnet vx2 display. When sold with a radar antenna in the USA they became 18XX depending on dome or a 19XX depending on open array. No difference in the actual display.

Hi Melville Can the rdp-149 use a RSB-0094-075 dome ? What radars other then 1823c and 1824c can this dome be used for ? Can it be modified ? thx

The RSB0094-075 radar scanner can be used with the RDP149. It would be called 1824C if Navionics programming or 1824C/NT if C-map programming. The NavNet 10.4" (RDP139 & 149) are the only two display designed to work with this model. With great expense it could be modified to work with a 7" NavNet.

Thx very much Johnny E. :O) so is this thing below with the many acronyms i don't have any knowledge of the same as a basic RDP-149 that works with my dome or is this a different beast ?

Yes, that is an RDP-149 that would work with that dome.

There was a reference made to the following device on a radar listing i might purchase ... Do you also need this device to have the radar work on the rdp149 or, does this thing just enhance the basic radar image, or is it for something entirely different ?

The radar can work without heading. Heading and position allows you to enable extra features like overlaying the radar on top of the the chart plotter.
