RDP-118 and RSB-0071-057

Hi everyone, has anyone had experience in the connection between an RDP-118 (CRT) display and an RSB-0071 RTR-057 scanner? I connected these two devices, but the antenna does not turn. I tested the cable and it's ok. I know the scanner works. Maybe the problem is in the display? Thank you.

If you know the cable is good and you do not have scan stop set in the install menu, then it is likely the display. There is one component and two different pcbs that could be the problem in the display. I would link up with your local Furuno distributor.

Basically that combo is called the 1832 radar and I agree that given the information it sounds like something is wrong in the display. Make sure it is set to main (master) and not sub (slave) in the settings. It should also be set to the correct radar model (1832)

Hi, and thanks for the reply. Yes, I checked the settings you tell me about. It is set as a master, the rotation is inserted, the tensions are all normal. Pressing Gain and 5 times menus, you enter the factory settings. They are 36mg, M1832, R (regular). The problem I think is this: the scanner is a 24mg, while in the factory setup the RDP-118 provides only 36-48-64 mg. I believe that the system does not recognize the RSB-0071-057 scanner. Because it's a 24mg.

Not sure what you mean by mg. You seem to be talking about max radar range but that range is dependant on the radar model which you set the software setup of the display. If talking about rotational speed, the 1832 dome is indeed a 24 rpm scanner and that doesn't relate to the RANGE setting which you are referring. That scanner (RSP0071-057) sold in thousands as the 1832 radar using the RDP118 display. If it doesn 't recognize it is because your settings are wrong or you have a broken display.

Hi Johnny, it's definitely a display problem. The scanner is working 100%verified. By mg I mean miles.
The RDP-118 display provides settings for 36-48-64 miles.
Tomorrow check the start -up control commands on the PIN N.1 of the DJ1 connector.
They must be 12 Volts on TX, 0 Volts on S-BY.
However, I must say that the scanner was installed on an RDP-149, with a reach of 24 miles.
So the combination was 1834c/nt (C-MAP paper).
The modulator is the MD9208, and the I.F. It is 9214.
a lot of thanks

Hi everyone, I found the cause of the failure on the RDP-118.
A faulty chip, the rotation control for the scanner engine does not arrive.
This was a display that gave me for working. But it wasn't true.
It will go among the wreckage since it is the spu-9211 that is spoiled.
It is better to find one used one.
