Radar Range with 2 Screens

I recently had two Furuno 16 XL MFD installed with an NXT 4ft array. When running at night, I prefer to have the left screen set to a half mile and the right screen set to 3 miles. With 2 displays, when i adjust the range on either screen it changes the other MFD. Previously I was running a Simrad HALO and I was able to pick the "channel" of the radar for each MFD. I know a split screen allows me to have the two ranges, but i was hoping to have a full screen. Is there any way to make this adjustment?

I created a custom page for the other MFD with a 1/2 and 1/4 - 1/4 screen layout with the hopes on the 1/2 side i could choose the range i want it, and the 1/2 side defaults to the other monitor. If a split screen is the only work around, can I re-arrange which of the splits is the range i want?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

The radar is one shared resource between displays. If you change it at one; it changes on the other. It is possible to add another radar and have the second display to use the other radar source and then with two resources you have complete separation. As Reeper said, the only way to conduct dual range with one resource is to conduct a dual radar screen on one MFD and use the designed dual range mode. This is how it is. The channel selection in the Furuno radar is so you can put it on a different channel so it doesn't have as much conflict with maybe other radars in your immediate area by shifting to a different channel.
