Is it possible to overlay the radar to the chart plotter screen with my MFDBB

Plus will Navnet show AIS intercept plotting lines like my TZT14

Thx

Solana,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Without know specifically which/what equipment is installed as part of you navigation/radar suite it is impossible to say for 100% certainty.
Yes; The MFDBB is capable of the radar / chart overlay functionality BUT there are certain conditions; Do you have a Furuno DRS radar sensor installed as part of the system? Is there a position sensor, like our GP330B or BBWGPS, installed as part of the system? Is there a 10hz heading sensor, like our PG700 or SC30 satellite compass, installed as part of the system? all of these are necessary for this functionality.

Which AIS receiver is being utilized and how is the data being fed into the NavNet 3D MFDBB?

I have the following equipment:
DRS 6 thru network hub
G330B thru nmea 2000
U-AIS 1501 FA150 thru network hub
PG-700 thru nmea 2000

Thx

You appear to have GPS, Radar, and heading. Have you tried overlaying the radar on the plotter while it is transmitting? It should work.

In regards to the AIS intercept. When you have the AIS targets on your screen you can set your target vectors to have a good idea where they will be in the set amount of time. I wouldn't call that intercept but your own ship vector and the AIS vector should make it really clear that you are going to meet at the same point in time or not. Have you tried turning on your own ship vector and the AIS vector lines? That should also work.

I was able to get the radar to overlay onto the chart. I will check in the MFDBB manual on how to turn on the AIS vector lines.

Thx
