Radar line of sight

I am putting together an electronic package and had a concern about DRS4D-NXT and a FLIR M232. The radome will be at the same height as the FLIR. With the FLIR about 6' in front of the radome. The question is, will this interfere with the radar being able to have clear view forward. Or is this just a case of too much time overthink possible problems. Thanks in advance.

Excellent question, first off I would carefully review all the considerations for selecting a location for installation of a radar in the manual. However, depending on the circumstances, some things cannot be helped. Ideally the FLIR should be out of the radar beam width, but if it has to be than it's highly advised to setup proper sector blanking for that small portion of the radar's radius. :cool

See "Installation" and Sec. 2.2.1: https://www.furunousa.com/-/media/sites ... manual.pdf

Hope that helps, :sail
