Hi,
I have model 1944c radar (4' rotating antennae) that is specified to be capable of 64 miles I believe. How far will this radar really work due to the curvature of the earth mounted at a height of approx 8'? I read that OTH type radars utilize the atmosphere to reflect beams down and therfore are capable of seeing objects over the horizon. Is my model that type? What kind of realistic distance should I expect for my setup, understanding that it is dependent on atmospheric conditions and other factors?
Thanks,
Steve
