I am currently setting up a PG-700, once I complete the “Compensation of Deveation” step, and the unit goes into the “Initialization Of Angular Velocity” step, do I need to keep driving the boat in a circle until the IAV step is complete?

The process is complete after all lamps light up for a moment. Until that point 1.5 minute circles should be done. It will normally take about three or four turns to calibrate. If it doesn't ever complete, then the location is most likely not good.

It is something that is automatically done at the end of the calibration process before all the lights light up. You really can't do that part separately. In this case, I think the manual gave too much information. You doing the cal, turning circles, and when all the light light; your done. If you are using the Furuno Pilot it will tell you when the calibration is complete.
