hi there
I wonder if you could please advise me as to the ideal settings for bottom fishing
for demersal species ie cod pollok etc in approx 100M.
the sounder is a bbff1 black box sounder displayed via an RDP 139 vx1 dispaly.
the bbff1 is connected to a newly fitted airmar B260 through hull transducer with temp.
and the transmit power is set to the 1kw setting on the bbff1 via the jumper.

I have studied all the fish finder posts looking for related information
but i only find set up info for newer generation units.

thanks in advance

Mickyd,
Thanks for your email. It is very hard to say what the "optium settings" for your
BBFF1/B-260 will be. However I was just on a vessel in Alaska with a BBFF1 that was using a CA50/200-12M. I took this screen shot at appromately the same water depth.BBFF1.JPG
If I remember correctly my settings were;
Noise Limiter-OFF
Clutter-10
White Marker-OFF
Hue-3
Signal Level-OFF
Picture Advance-1/1
PRR-20
TVG HF-2
TVG LF-2
HF Gain-50
LF Gain-50

Try those settings and let me know how they work in your area.

Thanks so much for coming back to me with such a
