Optimal Fish Finder Settings

Hi everyone,

I've noticed recently when fishing with friends that their fish finders are much better at marking fish than my navnet is. I'm thinking that I have the settings programmed incorrectly. I typically fish for Striped Bass in 10-30 ft of water and for tuna in 100-400 ft of water. Can anyone tell me what settings I should be using for each? I'm lost!

Thanks,

Popeye

Popeye,
There are quite a few variables when you start comparing sounders and their performances from vessel to vessel. You mentioned that you have a NavNet system but do you know what type of sounder module (BBFF1, BBFF3, DFF1, DFF3 or UHD) you are using? Also another piece to the puzzle is what type of transducer are you using and how is it mounted. What would be helpful for me is to see a screen shot of your sounder while fishing using both frequencies. Also it would be helpful to let me know what your current settings are.

I am using a DFF1. Not sure of the specific transponder though. I just figured out how to turn on the Accusfish feature and things are looking a little more clear after help from tech support at Furuno. Thanks!
