NN3D no heading

Hello all, I’m a newbie here and have a question about my Navnet 3D system. My system includes dual MFD12’s, PG500 compass, and a Simrad AP24 Autopilot running through an AT10 converter on my 38’ CC. Prior to updating my units to V2.13 my heading on MFD was off while the heading on Simrad AP was dead on. Since V2.13 update my system isn’t reading the compass at all.

After looking into how the system is wired I noticed both the PG500 and the Simrad compass are both hooked up to the data 2 pigtail. The PG500 is tied into the INPUT on port 3 while the AT10 converter (Simrad compass) is tied into the OUTPUT on port 2. Does this sound right?

They might have wired both headings sources into the NN3D to have for redundancy. (to two different inputs) If that is done; it is important that both headings read very closely. The best is to make sure that your plotter is reading the same heading used by the pilot otherwise they are fighting each other. It sounds like the one compass is in bad location or has something near it, or maybe need to be calibrated.

Johnny thanks for your prompt response. I will go verify that the AT-10 is hooked up to the input and not the output like I previously mentioned. My original plan was to recalibrate the CP500 compass but after the update my system no longer reads the compass. I feel like you need to be a rocket scientist to understand all the ins and outs of the setup wizard. Is there a cheat sheet for setting up the correct inputs, outputs, sentences, etc. on my NN3D to the specific instruments?

Also, would the compass not being calibrated cause the NN3D To have a red X over the compass icon?

Thanks

If you have a red X, that means the system is getting no heading at all. You might have a configuration setting wrong in the wizard. I would recommend calling tech support while at the boat after you have an idea how it is all wired.
