I fish mostly Lake Ontario for salmon.Looking for recommendation for best navnet finder transducer combination to show fish especially when on or close to bottom.
r5dogs,
Can you supply a few more details?
What type of vessel, what is the depth of water, is looking for down riggers important etc. Do you have a Navnet module now or do you need both the module and transducer, sounds like you are looking for both?
r5dogs,
If you are looking to see baits and cannon balls the wider the beam widths are better. However the wider beam widths are not that great for detecting thermoclines. Also where you mount the transducer in relationship to your downriggers and how fast you troll comes into play. I looked at the 2820 online but that doesn't tell me much about the shape of the hull, internal tank arrangement or your trailering set up. The DFF1 using a B-260 with the high speed fairing has always be a good combination. At trolling speed the narrow 6 degree HF beam will be better at thermoclines than watching cannon balls. Above that option would be the DFF1-UHD with either a B-265 (thermoclines) or the B-275 for watching cannon balls on the HF side. Hope this helps.
