More Airmar B175H and B175L problems

Could this be from a setting issue or is it the Airmar B175H and B175L transducers are on there way out again? The B175H is 3 years old and the B175L is less than 2 years old (had to be replaced after barely a year).

I’ve tried to reduce the gain and change to Auto and nothing works. On High frequency the screen is all over the place and gets even a ton more interference than is shown in the pics and the bottom is up halfway in the middle of the screen.

As you can see on low any data is scrunched up at the top of the screen. I really hate these Airmar transducers. What is my alternative that I can fit in the same hole if I replace them?

Thanks.
Nick

Now that I think about it, this may have started after I did the CMOR mapping upload. I’ve only used the boat once before today since November but can’t recall if it was a problem last time.

When I did the CMOR upload all went well per the instructions but now have this problem. I wouldn’t think both transducers would go bad at the same time.

Went out fishing today and the high frequency did not have any interference in deep water but back in 20 feet or less, the interference returns. I don’t recall ever having the shallow water interference problem before on the high frequency.
Low frequency is still shot. I think the low frequency transducer is done for, which means that’s the second Airmar B175L transducer that has gone out in 3 years.

Hey Cultivatedcoral,

It seems you might be getting noise or turbulence. Is your TZT2 grounded using the wing nut off of the back of the unit? Make sure your transducer cables are not running over other cables and getting noise/interference from other cables.

Before we get too far into this, can you make sure to save your user data and do a master reset on this unit? Make sure it is out of bottom discrimination. After you do this, can you get us some more pictures of the screen?

thank you,

thank you,

Will do once marinas open back up after this Coronavirus shutdown. Thank you.

Also,

Can you confirm how the Transducer Shield Wires are terminated in the DFF1-UHD, are they terminated into the orange connector?
