Mirror to iPad

OK, I’ll take the abuse…this should be easy but I haven’t made it work yet. Can someone point me to step-by-step, illustrated, can’t-possibly-not-succeed instructions on how to pair / tether / connect my 1971 to my WiFi iPad? I’ve read the basic instructions, but something’s not clicking.
Thanks in anticipation!

My issue seems to be understanding Step #1 for a WiFi-only iPad. Can you walk me thru that?
Since it doesnt have cell service built in, there’s no ‘Personal hotspot’ option in Settings as far as I know. Am I missing something simple, I hope?
Thanks.

For specifics, you will need to consult your device's operator manual for details on how to set this up. This feature is typically used on Apple devices with a cellular connection where wireless tethering is available. If your device is unable to generate a hotspot, or unable to enable wireless tethering than MirrorControl app might not work. :?

With the GP1971Fs on a NMEA2000 network and with a wireless NMEA2000 gateway however, you could consider an alternative like using the TZ iBoat app. It wouldn't be "mirroring," but you would get a very similar experience. (You can still use the iPad with the radar without needing to setup any hotspot network.) :cool

Thanks, Mag! I’ve been playing with too many iPads lately. My everyday one is WiFi only but the boat one does have a GPS chip so is cellular-capable, which I had forgotten when I asked the question. Not sure what went wrong the first time or two but I’ll have another go.

That one should work. Home > Settings > Personal Hotspot. Than connect your GP1971F to the hotspot you create. :wink7

Glad to help, :sail
