While delivering a boat south today I discovered the RotoKey on the MCU001 unit is not working. After a successful leg to the trip I powered down the MPU001 and other electronics. After dinner I powered up the units to check tomorrow's route. The MCU001 power key powers up the MPU, but when the disclaimer notice pops up on the display I am unable to click 'AGREE' by depressing the RotoKey knob.

I am able to advance using the USB mouse and keyboard. Once the NavNet interface shows on my displays I can navigate with the keyboard and mouse, but the MCU softkeys do not work - scroll, cursor, FindShip, etc.

I have disconnected the CAT5E cable and replaced it with another with the same results. I have powered down the unit, disconnected power and rebooted - same results.

Any ideas?

Thx!!

The MCU001 is a keypad controller that connects to an MFDBB as an Ethernet device and requires an IP address to control it. Without an IP address, only the power button will work. However, there can be up to two MCU001s connected to an MFDBB, so there is a procedure to "tell" the MCU001 which display to control. The process is called MFDBB Keyboard/Processor Linking and is located on page 66 of the Installation Guide. Sometimes the MCU001 tries to control the wrong processor, so this procedure toggles between the two...
**Simultaneously press and hold the left scroll pad arrow, right cursor pad arrow and push the Rotokey for 5 seconds. The keyboard will beep two times. You can release the buttons at this time. The keyboard should now control the MFDBB.

Did you run the installation wizard (menu-system) again? If not, run that again and do not hit skip during the search because one of the last things the wizard looks for is the keypad. Once in the wizard, go to global-data sources and ensure everything is set to the appropriate source and save&exit from there.
