Manual Fuel Tank Stopped Working

After five years of using the "Manual Fuel Tank" to display fuel level on my TZT 3 displays, it seems to have mysteriously stopped working. The fuel level does not change any more once it has been set to a specific level by adding fuel. It is very mysterious because the "live" engine fuel rate data is definitely on the network and still reads in the data boxes, both for each engine and the combined rate for both. So the TZT3 has the input data it needs to update the manual fuel tank, .i.e., the starting level and the current fuel rate yet it stopped updating.

I hadn't updated unit software or done anything to the settings when this happened. Just noticed one day that the manual fuel tank was "stuck" at 282 gallons and did not change. I tried redoing the entire engine and. tank setup, which did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions? It would seem to be a software issue so my next thought was to reinstall the unit software.

I have 2 TZT3 19's and a TZTXL 22 on my helm, when I did the last round of updates I lost the manual fuel calculations (that had been working for a year prior) on the TZT3's but the TZTXL still was calculating and showing fuel left in the tank. I also have the fuel rate for each engine and total fuel burned rate on both TZT3's but the display never changes on the TZT3's while it still works fine on the TZTXL. I have contacted support and they have no clue as to why.
I get my data from a Yacht Devices J1939 to NMEA 2k converter pushing the data from my Man engine displays to the TZ's

Would love to get this back on the TZT3's

Your experience does point to a software issue. I have a TZTXL at my tower helm but never looked to see if it was updating the manual fuel tank level. But it's odd that my TZT3s still display fuel rate but yours don't. Your situation makes more sense since if the unit does not see fuel rate, it could not adjust the manual fuel tank level. My fuel rate data is also coming from a J1939 conversion via my SMX Cummins engine displays, however, I don see how that could be the problem since it worked fine for five years.

Let's see if the Furuno guys can shed any light on the subject. If it is a software issue, we would not be the only people with the problem.

Ensure that your XL and TZT3 software is all updated to the newest. Mixed systems can be more complex. If you have fuel rate from the engines, it should work for manual fuel. Ensure that you have gone into the TZT3 unit and hit the AUTO TANK and ENGINE SETUP so that it picks up the data. If the engines are properly instanced, it should work. If you can't get it working and the software has been updated, then I would recommend recording the PGN data from the 2000 bus at the TZT3 unit and get that to our technical support to look at.
