I have installed a new DFF1 and B164 transducer to my existing rdp 149 Navnet Vx2 and the sounder does not recognize the transducer. I have poured over both the DFF 1 install manual and the rdp149 but cannot seem to figure out how to get the rdp to recognize the transducer. the DFF1 has a steady lit led.

If the sounder status light is solid while the NavNet is powered on and connected; you have a network wiring problem. (Communications not happening) You most likely have a straight connection when a crossover is required (if directly connected together).

the DFF1 is connected to the data port 2 on the navnet with a blue cable. I have set the setup to auto set and even tried different baud rates, but I really don't know what the correct settings are. I can't find anything in the installation manuals that I have found online. I have setup the correct dip switches on the DFF1 and still nothing.

Im trying to understand what it means when you say a Crossover is needed instead of a straight connection. Do I have the wrong cable from the DFF1 to the Navnet? if so, What would be the part number to the correct one. Is it a Furuno 001-159-705-10 cable? Or do I need some type of converter box? Thanks for all you help.

You have identified the larger problem. The DFF1 is a network device and should connect to the NETWORK port. You are connecting it to the 0183 NMEA data port? That would not be correct.
