I have a rdp-149 nav net vx2 and a dff-3. Is it possible to connect the dff-3 lan to the rdp-149. Will an airmar r509lh transducer work with the dff-3 . what will be the tap settings .Thanks

Yes, the DFF3 will work with your NAVnet VX2, RDP149 display. It can be connected directly or via an Ethernet HUB/switch with appropriate cable. Yes, the R509C-LH will work with the DFF3 and the tap will be B for both the low and high frequencies. Please note that the R509C-LH will need to be set to a fixed low and high frequency as the DFF3 is not a chirp fish finder.

seagodess,

Utilizing the DFF3 (or FCV295 and FCV1150) with the R509LH and utilizing fixed frequencies is widely popular within the Southwest Alaska fishing community for salmon, cod, halibut, and herring.

Here is a picture showing the optimum frequencies of the R509LH. As you can see the R509LH has good performance using 35kHz on Low Frequency and 120kHz for the High Frequency:
