GPS for Navpilot 511

I have just installed a NavPIlot 511 on my boat and want to add GPS functionality in the NAV mode. I'm looking at a GP 330B GPS receiver with nmea 2000 connection.
Can I use this device to achieve the desired functions. If not, then what would be appropriate

To utilize the NAV mode you would need a chart plotter. The chart plotter (or a converter on the NMEA 2000 backbone) would need to send the NAVpilot 511 NMEA 0183 data. The NAVpilot 511 does not have NMEA 2000 capability.

Ahh. Such was my suspicion....Just plugging in a GPS antenna would be too easy. Thanks for the advice. And I was wondering what the NMEA variety I had, so now I know...NMEA 1083. So I would need a chartplotter that sends NMEA 1083 data or if the chartplotter is NMEA 2000 there is a converter out there somewhere.

We offer this converter.
However, our GP combos and TZtouch MFDs offer NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 outputs to make it easier.
