Can I put two GP1971F and a GP1871F on a the same NMEA2000 network?

Yes the GP1971F and the GP1971F can be on the Same NMEA2000 Network.

But only one of them can be hooked up to the transducer ?

They can both have transducers but you are bound to have cross talk. It is possible to turn off the advanced features that requires both freqs and then run one at HF and the other at LF and then they would work fine. It depends on the transducers being used, mounting and other variables. Because you have two units doing the same thing on the NMEA 2000 bus, you should change the device instance of one of them so there is no instance conflict on the bus.

Further to this question, if 2x GP1971F are networked, with one connected to transducer, will the other unit have depth data?

Yes the GP1971F is a remarkably capable device and supports outputting Water Depth (PGN 128267) to the NMEA 2000 network if configured (see sec. 4.4 Installation manual)

Thanks! I’ve been debating whether to try mirroring with an iPad for my 2nd station or getting a second Gp1971f and wasn’t both were workable options.

A GP1971F paired with an Apple iPad with Timezero's TZ iBoat app is an excellent setup. There's even ways to bring the ipad into a NMEA 2000 network with a wireless gateway :wink7

Maggy, could you elaborate on this? I just installed my new 1971F at the lower station, and all works well. However I can’t seem to get the Mirror Control app working with it on my iPad, which I was hoping to use on the flybridge. Using the iPad up there with TZ iBoat works great but there is no depth info. I wanted to mirror the lower station 1971F to see depth, or how else could I get that info on the iPad?
