I have a GP1650WF sounder/chartplotter combo originally purchased in 2003 and replaced with a new unit in 2009. Is there something I need to do related to the GPS Rollover earlier this year?

The GP1650WF will not be effected by GPS rollover till 2021. Nothing you can do except for upgrade the unit to another chart plotter/fish finder when that hit times, because the GPS information is programmed onto the board of the units.
What is this GPS rollover all about ?????
I have 5 of those units , and depend greatly on two of them.... I have amassed hundreds of very accurate Lat Long numbers that i use for fishing and diving...... years ago I was caught with my pants down when the Loran towers were shut down,,, losing hundreds of numbers !
I hate to think it could happen again !
So you mean that all my units will be worthless after that date ? This is sad news,,,,
I guess the people that sold them on E-bay are smiling big time,,,,, but not the guy that bought them , thinking he was investing in a high quality bulletproof unit that would do the job for some time to come ........No wonder my friends told me to buy a new Garman......
Before you make more purchases you might want to educate yourself on GPS rollover. It effects most manufacturers with older units including Garmin and is related to limitations of the satellites in space.
