GP 1971F questions

I have a older GP 1850WDF , I'm looking to upgrade to the new GP 1971F. A few questions:

Will I be able or need to connect my existing GPS antenna?

What is the purpose of the Y cable - AIR-033-270? Will I be able to connect a second transducer with this cable. I have a 525T-BSD installed now, it's glassed into the keel.

Will I be able to use the old chart card(navionics)?

Thanks
Paul

The 1971F comes with a very good internal GPS which should work fine on your boat, even when flush mounted. If you need a GPS sensor mounted on your hard top the one with the 1850WDF will not work. You would require a NMEA2000 version such as our GP330B. However, I really don't think it is needed and would suggest you hold off purchasing it.

Your current transducer will plug directly into the 1971 and no Y cable is needed.

Finally, the 1971 will accept C-Map 4D charting only and is not compatible with Navionics.
