GP 1971F B258 vs B260 question

Hi..
I'm looking for a CW to mount on the GP 1971 of a friend and I see that B258 is not compatible with BDS & Accufish.Will rezboost still work with B258 ?
He is working longlines usually at depths 240-720 ft,so this means that most of the time BDS won't be reliable anyway.
My question : Is B260 a better transducer,regardless of BDS compatibility etc..as far as conserns the returning image analysis at these depths?
