Hello I have updated my Gp 1971 from the older software version 1.1 to the new version 3 and the sounder is not targeting fish the same way that it was with the older version, is it possible to do a downgrade.

Yes, it is possible but I would suspect that it won't change anything in regards to the sounder. You would have to contact Tech Support in your area directly to request any older versions of software.

Thanks for the reply, I have already contacted the tech support and I'm sending the equipment to them. But the other question I have is that with the new version 3 software the equipment now has a bigger range of transducers to choose from and is it possible that the transducer that I have is (B150)300W is not strong enough to detect fish the same way.

Well if you were over driving a 300w transducer with older 600w settings, it might explain the difference you are seeing, more than the update of the software itself.

Since I bought the Gp 1971 I've been running it with the 300w transducer and only when I have updated the software to version 3 that the problem's appeared.

The problem that I'm seeing with the equipment a friend as it too, and a different friend who bought a Gp 1971 now, is equipment came with a version 3 software from factory, and the difference between our equipments is in the menu sounder information is program version and boot version are different, I think maybe when I did the update possibly something didn't install correctly.

Hello i just recieved the equipment from the tech support, and it's no good it came the same way it went, and i got no real explanation from them , they say that they have run test tools from Furuno and no errors have appeared, but what i see at sea it's that the equipment is not running like it used to with version 1.1 software. is it possible that when i updated to the version 3 software the installation didn't run all the way thru, because what i see in a friends equipment that came with a version 3 software from factory are different "program version" and "boot version" in (Sounder Information) in the "About" menu. i will post pictures of what i'm saying.

What country are you located? Were you working with the Furuno distributor or the dealer on this? Your fish finder software (1.04) is newer than your friends (1.03). There were two versions released for v3 released, so it appears he hasn't updated to the newest. The only concern I have is like you pointed out; the sounder boot version. I am not familiar with 1.02. It would be good to know who you have been working with so I can contact that person for more information.

Thanks for the reply, I'm from Portugal and I have been working with Nautel, I think that when I did the update I didn't do it correctly, because after seeing the update instruction manual you have to tap update now and continue twice and I only did it once, is it possible for me to install the update again? And if so how? Because I tried to put the SD card with the software again and it was no good.

You might be right. I have no record of 1.02 sounder boot loader but I will ask the parent company.

The parent company said the 1.02 boot loader is not a problem. Units that have newer type of flash memory has been provided 1.02 boot software. That version has nothing to do with the main application and fish finder application, which yours is showing to be the newest.
