FVC295 and TM260

I've contacted Airmar about the correct part number for their TM260, so that it works with my FCV 295. They say: "TM260-FUR, however searching for that part number I get only TM260's. Can someone help me understand what's going on here..Does the transducer come without a connector? By adding the 'FUR' to the part number, does that give me the correct plug? If so, where can I find the TM260-FUR? Thank you!

Just got off the phone with another 'expert' who tells me Airmar no longer makes the TM260-FUR, and that for my application the TM265C-LH-0 is a much better choice. Incredible to me that this is so utterly confusing, even for the 'experts'. I've used Airmar products for along time, but this last call to their New Hampshire office has me scratching my head. Anyone out there fishing in 60-200 fathoms salt water using this combo? Would like to hear from an actual user.

Makika,
It really depends on what you are trying to do. The a TM-265 is basically the Chirp version of a 260 transducer. So it has a narrow high frequency beam angle which is better for finding Thermoclines and different layers within the water column. Another option would be looking at a TM-275 which has a wide HF beam width. It's better for fish detection in the upper part of the water column. Both transducers use the same LF element so the beam width is the same in that respect. One draw back is that both transducers are transom mounted and will be prone to turbulence.
