Hi All,

Looking to get a new B260 Transducer to replace one that is about 15 years old. I had a TM285 (CHIRP) mounted as well but didn't quite like how it read at 600-900 ft. I think I will stick to Conventional. I was wondering if having a DFF3/3D would improve the quality on my TZT3 9F. The TZT3 9F has an internal 1kw fish finder and the B260 connects but I was looking to maybe improve and maybe prepare in the future if I want to upgrade my Transducer to a stronger 2k/3k

Sorry for sounding clueless!

Thanks

The TZT9F will run the B260 fine at the full 1kw. If you are looking at getting something to run higher power it would likely be the DFF3-UHD with a larger transducer. The B260 can go pretty deep on the LF side. How deep are you fishing? The B260 isn't reaching bottom at that depth?

The B260 on the LF side can easily do that depth. The B260 is a great transducer and in good conditions Airmar rates the LF side down to 3000ft. If you are missing targets it might be off to the sides and outside the beam or there is just nothing there. If you wish to change things up, the DFF3D multibeam makes a great search tool for finding targets due to the wide beam. At 600ft it would cover 1200ft of bottom area. The DFF3D works to 900 to 1000ft which is covering your needs. Maybe get a DFF3D and transducer and use it to find targets and then use the B260 as you get on top of them.
