I have purchased navnet vx2 bb is there any way of telling if the arp-11 plotter board is installed

Yes, you can run the APRA test. If it runs the test it has a board. If it flashes and goes back to the menu; it does not.

You have a board. To conduct ARPA on the Vx2 with ARP-11; you must have AD10 heading wired up. NMEA heading will not work for ARPA.

On the older style compasses like the JRC JLR-21, they supported AD-10 but double check with your operator's manual. As for the VX2 side of things it connects as follows:

I am getting heading on radar screen but when I do test it isn't coming up just blank

Most likely because it is in NMEA format not AD10 format.

I think ARPA support is only for DRS style network radars, but I would call Nobeltech support and ask them.
