Furuno RD33 vs FI70

I am updating all of my electronics and looking at new displays. I am installing a GP33 and also want some displays for wind, depth, anything else. I have looked at the FI70 and the RD33 and trying to decide. I would like three (3) displays and I understand you can add up to three RD33's to the buss.
I is coming down to looks, three RD33's and one GP33 will all look the same. One GP33 and three FI70's, well it is just looks. Is there any reason not to go with RD33's vs FI70's other than COST?
They will be paired with a 220WX wind, three TZTouch2's, GP33, two radars and depth.
Thoughts and advice.

It depends on what you want from them. The FI70 has more support for engine data display than RD33. RD33 has 0183 support and the FI70 does not.

You might be thinking about the Furuno pilot control heads that are limited to three per bus. I have seen boats with nine RD33s on the same bus. In the RD33 manual there is a comment about up to three units on a NN3D bus. That is referring to where the limited thru-put power is powering a small limited bus. That is because of the max current draw allowed from the NN3D powered port. If you have the RD33 on a normal NMEA 2000 bus, you are not limited to just three units.

Thank you for the response. These displays will not be monitoring engines, going to keep OEM panels and gauges for them. Having the ability for MNEA 0183 is a plus however this mostly new equipment.

You are correct on the manual reference, that is where I seen the three remark. I only need three but now knowing that is not a maximum is good.

Going to go with the RD33's.

Thanks again.
