Furuno Navnet VX2 1944c Replacement. Which TZ Touch?

Considering replacing a vx2 1944c with a tz touch model. Primarily for a faster and better chart plotter.

Is there a certain model that will fit the same size cutout as my current machine? My electronics are flush mounted and i was hoping to not have to reconfigure the dash.

We do have a retrofit kit for the TZTL12F. It is part number 001-337-430-00.
 
You will need to replace the radar gearbox and cable. You can use the array.
 
What size radar do you want? Do you use the radar for bird detection when fishing?

The DRS6AX is a 6kW radar which is the same power you currently have. However, its capabilities have been greatly improved over what you currently have which is still a superior radar. The new DRS6AX has digital performance and puts almost 50% more power on a target.
Your array can be used so you would just need the gearbox and cable.
The gearbox and cable are a single part known as the DRS6AX. The cable is 15 meters which should be plenty for your boat. It is a smaller diameter than what you currently have so it should be easier to run. The bolt pattern is also the same.

One other item you might need is a 12V-24V converter as the radar needs 24Vdc.

Update. Im actually running the latest software. 4.03

Now to decide when to get the TZT

Just to be clear. If was to keep my current radar. Would i be able to hook it up to the newer MFD?....Not sure i wanna drop 5 Grand on the gearbox and cable right now

There is no current MFD that you can use with your current vx2 radar.
