hi Folks, my wife and I just bought a boat that has extensive Furuno kit already installed.
My question is how do we now register the Furuno stuff to us and what charts are already bought and installed on the plotters? :questions
If your a Furuno USA customer, you can contact support (410-479-4420 / 360-834-9300 or via http://www.FurunoUSA.com - Support - Ask a question) and provide you system ID and we can check for any charts that have been purchased. If you provide them a list of serial numbers and your information I am sure they can update company ownership records. If outside the Furuno USA area, contact your local Furuno distributor for support.
As mentioned earlier, calling Furuno technical support - support can look up the System ID of the unit and look there. However on the unit itself, you can navigate to MENU > [Chart-Data Catalog] and browse the charts on the unit as well as see your System ID #. One (chart) memory slot = 2 GB of data. A total of 24 GB in the hard drive is allotted for charts. You can browse the chart status for each chart file, if the status is "Ok - Included" it can be viewed.
If you're looking for a particular chart (Say C-MAP wide chart of the west coast); navigate to our website > Browse Products > GPS and Chart Plotters > Charts and browse for the chart (MM3-VNA-024) and then click on the link to view it on the mapmedia website and make a note of the file name (SDVJNAM024MAPXX.DBV) and see if it's on your plotter and/or locked or unlocked. Also note the map version no. you may have an unlocked chart, but it's several versions old. If that's the case, an update can be purchased from your dealer at a discounted rate.
