Furuno Commissioning

Good morning,
Thanks for letting me join! I have a few questions regarding my new Furuno equipment.

I just installed three new TZTXL units along with radar, sat compass, autopilot and DDF3D. Myself and a marine electronics guy did the install. I would like to have a certified Furuno person come out to the boat and commission the install and help with the setup. Am I correct in saying warranty won’t be covered unless someone certifies the install? Is this something Furuno offers? I am located in East Central Florida.

Also has anyone had any luck getting the Lumitec POCO show up on the MFD?

The Furuno guys can clarify but I will note that in 20+ years of using Furuno recreational equipment, I have never had an installation certified. I have sent a couple of devices to Furuno in Camas for warranty service over the years and the repairs were always done immediately without any issues or questions about certification. The warranty service is truly spectacular, especially by comparison with the other marine electronics companies, which never fix anything and send a remanufactured unit and don't even support equipment that is more than a few years old.

2 year warranty is not affected if you do your own installation or non-dealer does the installation. Many local dealers are available for services for which you could have one come out to look it over and spend time with you. I would recommend looking and talking to the direct dealers in your area via our dealer locator. https://www.furunousa.com/en/company/find_a_dealer
