Is there a difference between a Furuno cable and a Actisense or Maretron cables

Are you referring to NMEA2000 cables? Most cables have the same standard.

Yes, the NMEA 2000 cables. I am setting up a CAN network and was going to use Actisense cables. Also I have a GP1971F and GP1871F that I want to put on the network. Can I just run a 3m drop cable to the backbone, I know I am limited has to what I can see.

Yeah, you can add a drop cable for your GP1971F/GP1871F and add it to your backbone.

I am ordering a PG-700, Can I power it up by dropping it onto the NMEA 2000 backbone, or does it need its own power supply ?

NMEA 2000 bus power is not related to the unit's own power. You must power both if you have or use both.
