Furuno 588 power socket replacement

Hi, I have a 588 with a snapped pin and thread on the power cable socket on the unit end.

My question is am I able to use the transducer and power socket off an older 585 model? I noticed that the board has a different part number stamped and just want to make sure it won’t damage anything if I swap them both out. The connectors marry up and look the same into main board but just double checking :).

Cheers!

Basically yes. Some of the machines have a different number of pins on the main board for one side of the connector assembly. It will still work if you don't mind one of the mainboard connector pins going nowhere. I've done it. I've also desoldered the power/nmea connector and hardwired a new power cable to the connector assembly PCB as a last resort.
