Since I have a spare xn13a antenna in my garage I was wondering if the 6' antenna was compatible. If so, are there any appreciable gains in performance? Is it worth the swap. I don't have any current issues and can usually spot birds several miles out.

Officially the 1945 gearbox only supports the 4' but the 6' will physically fit and work. I have seen customers do it at their own risk without issue. It will create a bit more wind load on the motor but it should be fine. It would help the radar eyesight to distinguish targets a little better due to the longer antenna length.
