Fishhunter drive with suzuki, gateway question

Hello,

I’m trying to get the FishHunter Drive working with my Suzuki setup. My current configuration is:

  • Suzuki DF140BG with SMG4 gauge
  • Furuno TZT10XL MFD
  • NavPilot 300 with SCX-20
  • FAP-AR4502
From what I understand, I am missing the Suzuki Gateway 34923-96L13, which also requires a specific software version to work with the system.

My question is: does anyone know which software version or update is required for the Suzuki Gateway? I have already contacted Suzuki, but I haven’t received a reply yet.

I also read that an SMD7 or SMD9 display is normally required to configure the gateway. Unfortunately, that is not an option for me.

Is it possible to configure the gateway using my Furuno TZT10XL, perhaps through the Suzuki mode, or is an SMD display absolutely required?

Thank you.

When you put the TZTXL unit into Suzuki mode via the service menu it will unlock menu items that will allow you to setup for Suzuki FishHunter the same as having the SMD7/SMD9/SMD12/SMD16 unit(s). The SMG4 is a bit useless in that regard. @FishTech is a bit more up to speed on this than I. Maybe he can comment further.

@Johnny Electron is correct. Furthermore, if the SMG4 remains onboard it can cause unwanted effects. Suzuki has stated that they do not want SMG4s in the mix with the Suzuki 4-Tank Gateway because it is a gateway, and the SMG4s are gateways. It will create conflicts.

Tank you for reply
yes i saw that i need to turn off primary mode on the smg4 and also disconnect it from nmea2000 network.
Suzuki replied to my question about gateway software version, i need V2.10 for fishunter.

So you confirm with TZT XL i dont need the suzuki smd ? :)

Fish Tech, not to bring this thread back alive, but I have a question, that hopefully someone on the forum can answer. I just completed the installation of the Suzuki 4 tank gateway on my twin Suzuki DF200AP engines, it was sort of painful at first, but I learned a lot while completing the installation, even with the vague information and instructions provided by Furuno/Suzuki bulletins that were available. The Suzuki system for both my port and starboard engines are currently working on both of my TXTXL10’s. What I have realized after completing the installation is that I no longer have access to the starboard engine SMG4 gauge, since there is no where to plug it into the twin engine harness. The port engine gauge is currently working fine along with the TXTXL10’s. Is there anyway that I can connect the starboard engine SMG4 to the engine harness so I can have access to the starboard engine via its own SMG4 gauge? The reason asking this is because when I designed my dash about a year ago, I included both SMG4 gauges into the dash design because my research then didn’t find any information that told me I didn’t need the SMG4 gauges after I installed the Suzuki 4 tank gateway. I believe that having both port/starboard SMG4 gauges available in an active status that emulates the same information that is shown on the TXTXL’s is beneficial to a user as a backup to the TXTXL’s in case something happens to the TXTXL’s. So, any help with possibly solving the issue from anyone on this knowledgeable forum is greatly appreciated!
