I'm planning to buy an fcv-627 to find fish at a depth of 50' in the near future, is that possible? Please give me your opinion, thank you.

The FCV627 was replaced by the FCV628, which is still being sold. The FCV600 is the newest model in that size range.

If working in 50ft of water it would be best to see if you can get a wide beam transducer and run HF due to the shallow depth.
