I'm in the market to buy a new VHF... Simrad and Garmin appear to have AIS target calling from the MFD through their VHF using proprietary NMEA 2000 PGNs. Now if Furuno had a VHF that worked like that with their TZT2 I probably wouldn't care too much how much it cost!
Of course if the TZT2 played nicely with the Simrad or Garmin radios (Icom for some reason don't support call requests?) then it would be all over Panbo and there would be a waiting list I expect!
