Hello I heard from some people that fcv585 is 600 and that you need some extra device if you want to connect a 1kw transducer on it order to scan at 1kw otherwise you will use it only as an 600W one.

Is this true?

Koutroul,
The FCV-585 will impendence match to the transducer connected and thus output either 600 or 1kw. There is a 600/1Kw menu setting but that is for the ACCU-FISH function.

So when using the FCV585 and a 1kw transducer, the MB-1100 is not needed? Is the MB-1100 needed at all with the FCV585?

Koutroul,
Boy I wish I had a yes or no answer to that question for you. It all comes down to if the transducer is constructed with an internal diplexer or not. It might be easlier to tell me what transducers you are trying to use and I can tell you if requires the MB-1100.

Thanks Snips! I now exactly understood what is used for!
