FCV 585 networked with an MFD12

I'm looking for new electronics for my 25" center console. I'm leaning towards an MFD12 & seperate FCV-585 or 587. Can these units be networked? and what information would show up on the 585 screen?

Thank you for your question. Neither the 585 or 587 have network capabilities. The only thing you would be able to do is to export the 585/587 digital depth readout via NMEA 0183 into the MFD12.

Would the same 0183 cable provide any information from the MFD to the fishfinder?

Yes it can. There is a section in the operators manual on setting up the sounders NAV displays for different 0183 data. You can download the manual under the Manuals/Documents section for either the 585 or 587.
