I recently had to replace my 12 year old R99 2kw ducer, when the LF stopped working. I decided to upgrade to a R509 3kw ducer, figuring that someday my 2007 FCV1100 will reach the end of its life. I want to set the LF at 38 and HF at 175 taking advantage of the 3kw capability.

How should I setup the unit? How do I make sure that the ES is Transmitting at 3kw? and what TAP settings should I use?

Adeepdropper,
Thank you for your inquiry.
based on your information I'm going to assume that you have purchased the R509LH (low /high) not one of the other models of the R509 (low/med, etc). The FCV100 tap settings for this transducer are as follows; LF= Tap B. HF= Tap A. In addition to physically adjusting the jumpers you will also need to configure the transducer settings in menu of the FCV100 unit itself. Enter the transducer setting's menu by holding down any key while powering the unit on. Set the transducer to manual & configure both the low and high frequency settings. In addition to this the FCV100 is capable of "slewing" the frequency slightly off the selected frequency (usually + or - 10%) should you see interference at either 38khz or 175khz.
